We take pride in working hand in hand with local imaging centers to help come to the best diagnosis possible, and thus provide the best quality care. This gives us a great perspective of not just what we can see from the outside, but from the inside as well.
The proper diagnostic imaging allows us to correlate what the patient has been feeling for years, to what the patient has. It is an essential part of care that allows us to give the best explanation to the patient of what’s going on, why, and how we can help.
There are 26 bones that make up the spine, known as vertebrae. Between each of these bones are 8-12 joints that allow movement within the spine. However, as we do activities of daily living (e.g. sitting for long periods of time, sleeping wrong, improper lifting techniques, improper exercises, etc.), some of these joints come out of their normal position, which is known as a spinal misalignment.
These spinal misalignments cause the impulses traveling from the brain to diminish, and therefore cause imbalanced muscle function, tension in the shoulders, kinks, neck pain, low back pain, and stiffness to name a few.
Therefore a very important factor of our success in Spine Care is spinal adjustments. We gently place these misaligned joints back into their normal position in order to allow the nerve impulses coming from the brain to flow optimally, and decrease pain.
It is a very safe, and effective way that has helped our patients address their health concerns.
Spinal misalignments may present in ways such as, but not limited to:
Mid/low back pain
Shoulder/shoulder blade pain
Sciatica (sharp shooting pain down the back of the leg)
Numbness/Tingling down arms and/or legs
Myofascial release technique is a form of soft tissue treatment used on muscles that are in spasm or tight. This is a great way to provide that physical treatment that will give the patient that analgesic effect, help flush out inflammation and most importantly increase motion at the site of dysfunction.
It is a great form of treatment for pre and post surgical patients, and a variety of sports/work related injuries such as the following:
A very important factor of not just getting out of pain, but maintaining the body healthy and limiting further injury is by incorporating rehabilitation exercises into care.
We take pride in tailoring the care of our patients according to their condition. These strengthening exercises are exceptional for various types of injuries, as well as pre and post surgical patients.
Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (I.A.S.T.M.) is a technique used with particular tools on muscular and soft tissue injuries. These tools break down adhesions when there is excessive tightness within muscles, as well as break down the scar tissue that develops after every single injury. These tools allow for there to be more mobility, and for our patients to move freely. This technique works phenomenally on all upper and lower extremities, as well as the spine.
Athletic taping is a sophisticated treatment for sports injuries. It stabilizes the necessary structures, while retaining the mobility of the affected areas. It is an essential way to decrease injury, and increase the function of natural human movements.
